How to set up an IPP

First, we provide support to business owners and their tax advisors in determining if an IPP is suitable. There are multiple factors to consider including the age of the business owner, the earnings history of the business, the amount of T4 income, the future outlook for the business, the entrepreneur’s future plans and desires, etc.

If collectively we determine that an IPP is suitable, we then lend our expertise to the design and structure of the plan. This is typically where we can add a lot of value. Every business owner’s situation is a bit different and we are adept at customizing plans to fit the needs. In fact, most people are surprised at just how much flexibility we are able to create. At Newport Private Wealth, you don’t have to accept a ‘cookie cutter’ approach.

After the plan design is determined, we will handle all of the set up and administration requirements. We collect the information, arrange the documentation and complete the filings to minimize your time commitment and give you confidence the plan will be completed as you wish.

When the plan is established and the assets are transferred into the IPP, we will provide access to conservative, pension-quality investment management and ensure all rules and regulations are met. You can feel confident your IPP will be managed responsibly to meet the retirement income it is built to provide.
